In the third article for the “RSC Guest Analysis” publication series, RSC Resident Fellow Marine Sarsgyan presents an analysis of the military alliances and security trajectories of the three countries of the South Caucasus. Sargsyan is a Doctoral Student at Leiden University in the Netherlands and holds a six-month RSC Fellowship, working in our office in Yerevan.

In the second in our new “RSC Guest Analysis” publication series, contributing analysts Armenak Minasyants and Iryna Bakhcheva presented a new assessment of Armenian-Ukrainian relations. The joint article, entitled “Armenian–Ukrainian Relations: Common Challenges and Different Visions,” also includes additional recommendations on how best to repair and restore the relationship.

Տարածաշրջանային հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի հոդվածաշարի վերջին հրապարակումը, որը կոչվում է «Հայաստանի չհաղթահարված մարտահրավերները 2015 թվականին», գրվել է Հայկակ Արշամյանի կողմից, որտեղ հեղինակը գնահատել է Հայաստանի նախորդ տավա մարտահրավերները, որոնք շարունակում են սպառնալ երկրի անվտանգությանը նաև 2016-ին։ Հայերենով գրված սույն հոդվածը քննարկում է մի շարք ոլորտներում եղած մարտահրավերները, ներառյալ՝ քաղաքական, տնտեսական և սոցիալական խնդիրներն ու ժողովրդավարության զարգացման հետ կապված հիմնահարցերը։ Արշամյանը գտնում է, որ առկա մարտահրավերները պայմանավորված են ոչ միայն 2015-ի գլոբալ տնտեսական ու քաղաքական վայրիվերումներով և այլ զարգացումներով, այլև ՝ Եվրասիական տնտեսական միությանը Հայաստանի անդամակցությամբ։ 

In a special report entitled, “Peacekeeping Contributor Profile: Armenia,” RSC Director Richard Giragosian authored a study of trends and developments regarding Armenia’s demonstrable commitment to international peacekeeping operations.  The report, completed in late November, was commissioned as the 60^th country study for an independent research project, “Providing for Peacekeeping,” of the International Peace Institute, the Elliott School at George Washington University, and the Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect at the University of Queensland.
