27-29 JANUARY 2021
The Regional Studies Center (RSC) offers a regular monthly series of “Closed Briefings,” with RSC Director Richard Giragosian presenting a concise analytical presentation assessing the most significant political, economic and foreign policy and security trends and developments in Armenia and the broader South Caucasus region.
As an independent “think tank,” the RSC holds two online sessions each month, with our briefings specifically tailored for the diplomatic community accredited to Armenia and international organizations working in Armenia and the South Caucasus.
Our latest briefing sessions, covering developments in January 2021, featured a group of over three dozen participants, including the Ambassadors from Italy, Lithuania, New Zealand (based in Ankara), Norway (based in Tbilisi) and Sweden, diplomatic staff from the European Commission (in Brussels), the European Union Delegation to Armenia, the Embassies of Australia and Norway (based in Moscow), the Czech Republic, Poland, and the United Kingdom, as well as representatives from various international organizations, including the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Bank (EBRD), the Armenian Central Bank and the London School of Economics (LSE).
The attached are the Analytical Notes from the briefing that was held on 27 and 29 January 2021.
