As part of the fairly extensive coverage of the 8 August “Peace Summit” hosted by President Trump at the White House, RSC Director Richard Giragosian was a guest joining Melissa Chan as a guest for an hour-long discussion for the DW News Desk on 13 August. Entitled, “Does the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace pledge lock out Iran and push out Russia?,” the show included Narek Sukiasyan from the Armenia office of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES). Much of the discussion focused on the geopolitical implications from the White House summit and also assessed the missing elements of the bilateral peace treaty that was initialed by the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers.

In a news program for Poland’s TVP World TV on 7 August, RSC Director Richard Giragosian commented on the next day’s planned White House meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders. A second, follow-up interview was held on 9 August, with Giragosian provided an assessment the day after the White House ceremony. Both interviews were conducted by Diana Skaya for Poland’s TVP World, the Polish international news network operated by Telewizja Polska, consisting offering English-language 24-hour news.

RSC Director Richard Giragosian joined the “Russian Roulette” podcast on 9 July, for a discussion entitled, “Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Geopolitics in the South Caucasus.” The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) podcast was hosted by Max Bergmann and Maria Snegovaya, with Giragosian joining fellow guest Jeffrey Mankoff from the U.S. National Defense University (NDU) for a discussion of “the current geopolitical moment in the South Caucasus, with a particular focus on the dynamics at play in the relationships between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia.”
